Women’s Empowerment Night

The Canucks’ annual Women’s Empowerment Night is part of the NHL’s larger Hockey is for Everyone initiative. Each year, we take this opportunity to celebrate the achievements of girls and women’s hockey, as well as encourage moving forward to grow the girls’ game and create a more inclusive space for all.

In 2021.22, we collaborated with Grindstone Award Foundation, a BC-born foundation that provides opportunities to young female hockey players who have a desire to play, but are unable to for financial reasons. They are committed to helping girls across Canada play the game they love and to ultimately grow the female game. The Canucks for Kids Fund were proud to donate $20,000 to Grindstone Award Foundation this year, supporting 40 more girls play the sport they love.
